Our Purpose

Mothers of Wonder was designed to provide support, education and friendship to its mothers and to provide a basis for our members to be active in the community.

About Us

Mothers of Wonder was created by a group of moms in October of 2007 as a way to bring together parents from all over Fauquier County and surrounding areas.  We are a part of the larger WOW International, Inc., a non-profit community-minded network of women from across the county.  It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child, and this is our village.  MOW members offer one another support, education and friendship while simultaneously creating an outlet for families to become active in the larger community.  We come from a wide range of backgrounds, talents, and interests, and support both at-home and working moms.  While we are called the “Mothers” of Wonder, we are open to dads, grandparents, or anyone who is a primary caregiver to one or more children.  We try to provide a wide array of features to our members, including playgroups, family outings and activities, Moms’ Night Out, Meet & Greets, community events and service projects, interest-based subgroups and a monthly newsletter.  Most importantly, we also provide an extensive on-line community for our members; a place where we can talk, network, schedule events and share information and advice on all facets of life as a parent.

Many of our members are very active, and attend a majority of our events. Others find that they prefer attending just playgroups or occasional events. Still others find that just being linked in to our on-line network fits their needs and keeps them feeling connected to other moms. No matter what the level of activity, we welcome all mothers to come, share and participate in whatever way works for them!  And of course, children are always welcome.
